POKOTABI / Kairikiya
京都北白川ラーメン魁力屋 南砂店
Located on the 1F of Toprec Plaza West Building in Minamisuna, Koto Ward, Kairikiya serves classic Kyoto seabura shoyu ramen, Kujo scallion ramen, fried rice tossed with signature soy tare, and karaage.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Drawn by the balance of sharp, clear soy sauce and the rich sweetness of pork back fat (seabura), diners naturally gravitate to Kairikiya. The signature Kyoto seabura shoyu ramen combines an easy-drinking, light mouthfeel with deep savory undertones, crafted in an unpretentious, nostalgic style that appeals to both children and adults. For crisp textural contrast, bowls can be crowned with generous mounds of green Kujo scallions, or upgraded to the fully loaded option with 2 times the chashu pork, a soft-boiled seasoned egg, and nori seaweed.
A favorite accompaniment alongside a steaming bowl is the house fried rice (yakimeshi). Tossed over intense flames with a specially seasoned soy tare, the rice grains emerge distinct, fragrant, and ideally matched to the seabura shoyu broth. The kitchen also turns out crispy-coated fried chicken fragrant with garlic and ginger, along with richer alternatives such as koku-uma ramen—merging pork depth with chicken bone stock—and mellow miso ramen.
Situated on the 1F of Toprec Plaza West Building, the shop offers counter seats suited for solo meals as well as tables for families and groups. With dedicated children's ramen and meal sets that include a toy or sweet treat, the restaurant functions reliably for weekend family outings, quick weekday lunches, and late-night cravings alike.
